I pledge allegiance to the written word.

A little dramatic, but true all the same.

My name is Jodelle Faye De Jesus, as you can see from the tall, block letters across the top of this webpage. According to others, I light up when I talk about writing — either in contexts of content creation, marketing communications, historical and scientific articles, and creative fiction and non-fiction stories.

At the same time, I reach a natural high from the authority, confidence, and knowledge embodied and exerted by the red pen when I edit.

My journey to the love of books and the written word involves attempts at amateur architecture and acting, when I realized that what I enjoyed most from drawing houses and acting is the fantasy of characters, of budding relationships, and of constant conflicts that come to life within the two-dimensional walls of the homes I drew and within the scripts of dialogue that I wrote.

I am a storyteller, and the past years have not only helped me tell stories even more effectively, but have also shaped my personal story into one worth listening to.

My education in English and Classical Civilizations fostered in me a more nuanced, analytical understanding of the world; in Professional Writing and Communications a solid foundation of effective, engaging linguistic communication; and now in Business sharper logic and common sense, while I develop critical skills applicable to real-world situations in any organization I join.

In the future, I would also like to tackle web development and the French language.

My parents instilled in me the lesson that determination, diligence, integrity and good will are key not just to become a person of success, but to become a person of value. I strive continuously to better myself because I recognize that I still have a lot to learn, and I think this humility propels me to be even more determined, to be even more diligent, to more fervently exercise integrity and good will.

Professionally, I hope to fulfil positions in which I can effect significant, tangible changes on the community I join and the natural world I inhabit. I hope to partake in this revolution doing what I love: administering effective, engaging communications, and telling worthwhile stories.

Against the global population and the whole universe, I am an insignificant speck. To however big or small company I keep, I overcome my insignificance by striving to do good always and thriving in the face of challenge.
